How Can We Afford Purcell Marian High School ?
Scholarships
Purcell Marian will offer 60 Academic Scholarships for the 2009-2010 school year. These scholarships are awarded based upon the results of the Placement Test. (See information on back for details on scholarships available)
Financial Aid
Purcell Marian has over $210,000 available for financial aid for the 2009-2010 school year.
The first step to be eligible for any of this financial aid is to complete the Private School Aid Service (PSAS) Student Aid Form. These forms will due at PSAS December 31, 2008 and are available from the business office (487-3134).
Alumni Grant - Based upon need as determined by PSAS. Alumni grants range from $400 to $1,800.
Knowledge Works Grants – are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need, good academic skills and an excellent discipline record. Applications for these grants are available in the business office (487-3134).
Hein/Hamberg Grants – Other financial awards are available to those students who work hard, represent Purcell Marian well and have acceptable academic and discipline records. Applications for these awards can be obtain from the business office (487-3134)
Student Work/Study Program – Eligible students may be offered work study assignments through which they may earn up to $750 toward their tuition. These assignments may be after school or during school hours. Applications are available in the business office.
Parent Work program – Eligible parents may be offered work assignments required for the maintenance of the building after school hours. Parents may earn up to $300 per month during one of the two work sessions. Applications are available in the business office.
CISE Grants - Catholic Inner-City Schools Education High School Tuition Aid Grants -
These grants are awarded upon the financial need of students from the following parishes. (St.Boniface,Northside; Corryville Catholic,Corryville; St. Francis de Sales, Walnut Hills; St. Francis Seraph,Over the Rhine; Holy Family, East Price Hill; St. Joseph , West End; Resurrection, Price Hill and Prince of Peace,Madisonville) The PSAS Application and an additional application, which is available from your grade school Admin istration in October, are required to apply for these grants.
Archdiocesan Grant - Using the PSAS information the Archdiocese of Cincinnati administers these grants. Call 421-3131 for information.
In the 2008-2009 school year over 200 students were helped by the grants listed.
