 About Summer Reading

Purcell Marian High School prides itself on the strength of its academics.  Cavaliers are expected to develop a lifelong love of learning, which is cultivated year-round and founded on the importance of reading. We respect the value of time off in the summer to spend time with family, rejuvenate and relax, and therefore require that only two books are read.  These selections lay the foundation for the upcoming school year for all students.

Summer reading is incorporated into the curriculum across subjects, so it is very important that students return to school in the fall having read the selections and completed all of the assignments, which are carefully coordinated to allow for personal, spiritual, and educational growth throughout the year.

PLEASE PLAN AHEAD TO ALLOW ADEQUATE TIME TO COMPLETE EACH ASSIGNMENT.
