The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a demanding academic program focusing on academic achievement, critical thinking, research skills, and community service. It has been operating for 50 years and can be found in over 3,850 schools in 147 countries around the world.
The IB Diploma Program at Purcell Marian is for students who desire a curriculum that presents subject matter from a worldwide perspective. Students who are highly motivated and intellectually curious will thrive in this course of study. The aim of all IB programs is to develop internationally-minded students who, recognizing their common humanity, and shared responsibility for the future, help create a better and more peaceful world.
Students are admitted for pre-IB (freshman and sophomore year) through an application process. Selection is based on grades, teacher recommendations, and evidence of motivation.
