Purcell Marian High School Seeks Applicants for Development Associate

Summary: 

The Development Associate is an integral role to Purcell Marian High School providing administrative support to the Development Office. This role participates in all fundraising activities including donor relations, communications, direct mail appeals, and special events, data management, and alumni relations. Working with the Director of Development and Principal/CEO, the Development Associate is a support position which coordinates the efforts of fundraising and the day to day operations of the school’s development and alumni office.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee management of Salesforce database, managing all changes, edits, gift entry, and ensure quality and accurate record keeping for Development Office
  • Team lead for Salesforce onboarding, training, and customization of program with contractors
  • Reconcile donations with the Business Office department monthly
  • Handle all administrative details associated with the Development Department and other meetings (i.e. calendar scheduling, prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, refreshments etc.).
  • Assist in coordination of mailings, appeals and campaign letters with Communication Manager and Director of Development
  • Maintain guest lists, gather and prepare registration materials for fundraising events both in-person and online
  • Facilitate and plan events, dinners, luncheons, happy hours and tours which bring together potential donors with the Principal/CEO, students, staff and Board members (when appropriate) in collaboration with Director of Development 
  • Communicate needs to Alumni Association and motivates volunteer involvement in school activities and special events
  • Actively engage alumni in school community via proactive outreach and follow up
  • Serve as liaison for class reunion requests and information seeking
  • Prospect and procure raffle donations for the annual Grand Event
  • Prepare media materials for distribution. (i.e. copying, filing, mailing, e-mailing) 
  • Assemble media and donor information for events and meetings in collaboration with Development Director and Director of Marketing + Communications
  • Collaborate with other school departments to assist with special event planning needs
  • Communicate the mission, philosophy and programs of Purcell Marian High School to potential donors, foundations and the general community
  • Draft copy and assist with edits alumni news, grant narratives, and other written materials as needed
  • Represent the school at civic, religious and other public functions as requested
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development or Principal/CEO 

 
Previous experience in development, fundraising, event planning, and donor relations in nonprofit or school environment is required. Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding student and donor information. Proactive communication and troubleshooting skills are a must.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • A strong team player, demonstrated self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Possesses the ability to work in a fast-paced environment across competing commitments in a deadline driven environment
  • Experience and skill in Salesforce or related donor database is required. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite
  • Strong speaking and writing skills and keen attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required, or 5-8 years in a development, fundraising role and/or administrative support position
  • Comfortability in working with diverse ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds of the student body, alumni base and broad community
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance
