The English Language Learning (ELL) Foundation announced six Purcell Marian seniors as recipients of a 2023 ELL Foundation Scholarship.

Carlos Guttman, Berice Niyukuri, Ruendy Martinez-Hernandez, Leslie Ramirez, Nubia Ramirez-Sanchez, and Yureysi Sanchez received their honors at the English Language Learning (ELL) Foundation's 15th Annual Recognition Breakfast at Northern Kentucky University.

The ELL Foundation Scholarship provides opportunities to English learners who have the desire to continue their higher education at accredited area colleges and universities. Recipients must meet GPA and Service Hours requirements, and be an English language learner, defined as students whose native or home language is not English.

2014 Purcell Marian Graduate and previous ELL Foundation Scholarship winner Jose Arnulfo Cabrera was a featured speaker at the event, highlighting his efforts as an immigrant advocate and his journey to becoming the Executive Director of the Young Latino Network in Cleveland.
