A passionate educator and scholar, Dr. Whapham holds a Ph.D. in Historical and Systematic Theology and a Master of Arts in Theology/Theological Studies from The Catholic University of America, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Dayton. Dr. Whapham’s career is distinguished by his extensive experience in both secondary and post-secondary education, where he has served in roles ranging from teaching to executive leadership. Most recently, he orchestrated a transformative reorganization at the University of Saint Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary, consolidating operations and significantly improving fiscal health as the Director of External Relations and Thriving Congregations Initiative. His strategic acumen, coupled with his deep understanding of Marianist educational values, uniquely positions him to lead Purcell Marian into its next chapter.
